LECTURE HALL RENOVATION
School of Law
Boston University
Boston, Massachusetts

Boston University established three goals for the renovation of two lecture halls in the School of Law: to encourage debate, to update the classroom technology, and to improve the environmental and acoustical conditions. In response, Beacon Architectural Associates designed this lecture hall to accommodate debate in a U-shaped, tiered seating arrangement and, by installation of microphones in the ceilings, to amplify the dialogue of speakers. The hall also features platform seating, computer network terminals at each seat, video interface with the lecturer’s computer from the podium, and barrier-free access.
