This project at the Boston Medical Center involved the renovation of 1,100 square feet of existing office space for use as a phlebotomy clinic. The renovation included a waiting room, reception area, private blood-letting stations, toilet rooms, and a staff lounge. Special requirements included an eyewash station, a pneumatic tube for delivery of samples, and a clean storage area. It was necessary for Beacon to design a space which met the documentation and safety requirements of the Department of Public Health for a laboratory involving human blood.
