Beacon converted this townhouse at 625 Commonwealth Avenue which was built in 1908 as a single family residence into a dormitory for Boston University. The renovated dormitory provides unique living facilities for twenty-two students on five floors with unit sizes ranging from singles to triples. The building features an ornamental stair, a common lounge area, a barrier-free unit, and many historic details which were maintained during the renovation. The renovation provided completely new heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
